The origins of the SALT Yacht Lake Constance division go far back in the 1950s. At that time, company founder Charly Russ lived with his family in Altusried near Kempten. Charly discovered his love for Lake Constance early on, at the age of 13 he drove the 60 km to the lake, packed with tent and food, on his bike and spent carefree days here.
In 1973, when Charly was married and had his own children, he took over a mooring in the Mollweide harbor, the same one that the SALT yacht still uses today. A Najade 930 was the first yacht on which Charly, his wife Doris and the two children Christian and his sister, spent a lot of their free time, the use was initially purely private.
After the founding of the Saarbrücken OHG yacht school in 1988, the yacht was used for educational and training purposes. When the Sunsail Sailing School was founded in 1999, the faithful Najade was replaced by a brand new, more modern 35 foot Jeanneau.

Until today, yachting is the focus at SALT Yacht Lake Constance. With a size of 532 m2, the special location due to three bordering states and the many attractions, such as the island of Mainau and of course the crystal clear water, Lake Constance is a popular excursion destination and also a great sailing area.

From April to October we offer skipper training, short trips, incentives or group sailing for beginners and advanced sailors, offered in the form of berth charter or private yachting, for a crew of up to 6 people.
